Terms of Service

These terms govern the use of the Mato service, published by Sycamore SAS, a company registered in Paris, France. By using Mato, you agree to these terms.

1. Service description

Mato is a shared family to-do list service, accessible via WhatsApp and a web browser. The service uses artificial intelligence to understand your messages (text, voice, images) and automatically organize your tasks.

2. Registration and account

• Using Mato requires an active WhatsApp phone number.
• You must provide a first name when creating your list.
• You are responsible for the confidentiality of your family code and access links.
• You must be at least 16 years old to use the service.

3. Plans and pricing

• Solo plan (free) — 1 member, personal list, all basic features, no time limit.
• Family plan — up to 4 members, shared list, monthly summary. €1.50/month or €10/year.
• Free trial — the Family plan is free for 45 days from when the second member is added, once per household. At trial expiration, the plan reverts to Solo if no payment is made. Additional members lose access 21 days after the trial ends, but no data is deleted.

4. Payment and subscription

• Payments are processed by Stripe. Mato does not store any banking data.
• The Family subscription renews automatically. The paying member can cancel at any time from the list's Options panel ("Manage my subscription", Stripe portal) or by emailing hello@mato.do.
• Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
• No refunds are given for partial periods, except within 14 days of the first payment (European right of withdrawal).

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use Mato for illegal or harmful purposes.
• Send offensive, abusive or illegal content to the bot.
• Attempt to access other families' data.
• Overload the service with automated requests or scripts.
• Resell or redistribute the service.

6. Artificial intelligence

• Mato uses AI (Google Gemini) to analyze your messages and organize your tasks.
• AI may make errors in categorization, voice transcription or comprehension. Always verify the results.
• Your messages are not used to train AI models.
• AI makes no decisions beyond organizing your to-do list.

7. Service availability

• Mato is provided "as is". We strive to maintain the service available 24/7 but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability.
• The service depends on WhatsApp (Meta), Supabase, Cloudflare and Google. Unavailability of these services may affect Mato.
• We reserve the right to suspend the service for maintenance with reasonable notice.

8. Intellectual property

The Mato service, its design, code and brand are the property of Sycamore SAS. Your data (lists, tasks) belongs to you. You can export it at any time by contacting hello@mato.do.

9. Limitation of liability

• Mato is a family organization tool, not a critical service. We are not responsible for the consequences of a forgotten, miscategorized or lost task.
• Our total liability is limited to the amount you have paid for the service in the last 12 months.

10. Termination

• You can delete your account at any time by sending STOP to Mato on WhatsApp, then DELETE within 24 hours, or by contacting hello@mato.do. The family list stays available to the other members; it is deleted when the last member leaves.
• We reserve the right to suspend or delete an account in case of violation of these terms, with prior notification except in cases of obvious abuse.

11. Changes

We may modify these terms. Significant changes will be communicated via WhatsApp or email at least 15 days before they take effect. Continued use of the service after modification constitutes acceptance.

12. Applicable law and disputes

These terms are governed by French law. In case of dispute, the courts of Paris have exclusive jurisdiction, subject to mandatory consumer protection provisions applicable to your place of residence.
